Despite so many poor reviews, I decided to stay here at £45/night compared to £185/night at the closest hotel to Glasgow Airport. This place is what it is, at £45 it was great. A sizeable single room on the top for with a comfortable single bed. I slept very well, despite many reviews saying how noisy it was, I did not experience this problem. On arrival, I called the owner, who gave me a four digit code to enter the building and another to get the room key outside my room door. It could not have been more straightforward. The Oakshaw Guest House is only a brisk 10 minutes walk from Paisley Gilmour Street Station and you can catch the 757 Shuttle buses from outside the Station to the airport for just £3.00 each way. Yes, this guest house does look better in the pictures than for real, but do you know, for £45/night, I’d definitely be happy to stay here again. Some people’s reviews of this property suggest they want a palace bedroom for next to nothing. As I said before, it is what it is. If you want more than a bed for a night, pay more money to the more extortionist hotels! Thank you for my overnight accommodation Sir. It was exactly what I was looking for. This area of Paisley is also worthy of a little exploration on foot to see some amazing architecture and local historical sites.

The room was large and well furnished. Huge fridge and freezer there, as well as a tea kettle. Bed was large and fascinating looking in terms of style. :-) Conveniently located for seeing Paisley. Found a great book to read. A couple negatives, we hadn't received an email with the code to enter the building and our room, so had to call from the door to get in. Then we didn't get the partial ensuite room we had paid for, and I don't think that we were compensated by getting a less expensive room.

Impressed by the cleanliness and the owner of the place is very cooperative my time of check in was 3 to 3 When asked for help to change my time to 9 in morning to 8 at night. He helped me out and let us stay.

Found the place easily enough but had some trouble finding some parking. Very cheap considering other places prices, plus the room had a microwave and fridge, very good. Bed was a little uncomfortable but for a single nights stay at a low price it's fine.

I highly recommend the Oakshaw Guest House. Comfortable accommodations and excellent location. Bus stop just outside the door made travel easy. I’ll be back and will definitely stay here again.

Not first time here and won't be last. Great with the very late registering. Very clean and a quiet place - exactly what I need after 12 hours of watching pool each day.

A spacious clean room, big comfy bed with great additional items that added comfort like a microwave, fridge, tea and coffee,t.v. It was within walking distance to the town centre. The only thing I would have like to chhanfe would be to be able to switch the air con machine off. It was noisy and a bit cold at night. It was too high to reach the off switch. Otherwise a pleasant stay and I would stay again if in the area.

Lovely place and very moderate

We had a flight rescheduled and KLM had no staff to assist, so we had no option but to get a hotel, Oakshaw came in as one of the cheaper options, so we went for it. Sky TV, WIFI and hot water. What more could we need, oh and a comfy bed.

Great place, within walking distance of pool club. Got second night very easy due to competition I was running was late and I could not get home. Sorry my arrival time was after 1am but competition went on till that time. I will be in Paisley for more competitions later in the year and will ask to stay and recommend to others staying the two days.

Easy access for hospital shops

The hotel is succinct and petite in outlook. Staff are very helpful and kind. There’s a lot of natural light coming into the rooms and it benefits from a lovely family run stone baked pizza restaurant right across the street. The rooms are small and bathrooms are outside the bedroom however it’s excellent value for money and a lovely country feel!

Single room was spacious and clean and bed was comfortable. My room was at the front of the building so had some traffic noise from the junction outside my window on the first floor. But when the traffic died down in the evening it was quiet enough to get a good sleep.

Have stayed here before and will again. Central accommodation for a good price. Rooms are large and very functional. Oakshaw is not trying to be something it is not. I have paid more for a lot worse than Oakshaw. Would you have a honeymoon here ? No of course not.

Quiet and comfortable, Loads of shops nearby

Second time staying here and it’s been great as ever the beds are so comfortable and it’s great to just get away for a night to relax very clean and quiet and close to meany shops and places to eat out it’s an idea location

I enjoyed my stay at the Guest House, it is clean, tidy, warm, with fresh towels, it had tea/coffee making facilities and biscuits,and is walking distance to the Bus stops and train station, it really suited my over night stay and if i get a chance i would stay again.

I stayed at the property as my partner was in the Royal Alexandra Hospital having are child and I could not of been happier with the accommodation and facilities provided by the guest house and would highly recommend

Affordable,clean accommodation.Although the outside entrance area looks a bit shabby, the inside is very nicely done. The room and bed are comfortable and has a kettle and tea,coffee, biscuits etc. Although someone is not there when you arrive,they give you a code to the entrance door and your room number when you call the number on the website, as well as on the entrance door. If you don't have a phone,I would suggest you contact prior to arrival for information. If you are coming from Glasgow by public transport, the MCGILL #38 bus(NOT McColls) stops on Walker Street,almost across the street from Oakshaw Guesthouse.

Stayed for a gig we were attending at Belahouston Park. We never saw a member of staff during our visit but this was not an issue. The rooms were clean and tidy with fresh towels on arrival. The shared bathroom was very pleasant but could do with the mastic in the shower being replacing as it was grubby in my bathroom. Well located for public transport and managed to get park up the bank behind the guesthouse without issue Great value for money and would use again if visiting Glasgow

A very nice place. The host is nice but not always there, the room and bathrooms are clean and confy. However it isn't soundproof but it stays really calm. I recommand it.

Room got high ceiling good street view. Remind me of russian hotel i stay in. I'd go back.

I came few days with my mom. The room was really nice, the bathroom too. Everything was clean, no noise. We really enjoyed staying there and i recommend it for sure !

We needed a place close to the airport. Jet lagged and not used to driving on the left. The place is spotless. The bathrooms are not private but are modern clean and the water is hot. Parking is on the street and free from 6 pm until 8 am approximately 2. 75 pounds for 4 hours. It could be better marked. The biggest sign is on the second story with a small one over the entrance. There isnt a big staff presence. The only employee we encountered was Jamie but he was friendly and helpful. Easy walk to a really nice Italian restaurant called Cardosi's.

This spacious room with a double bed is just minutes from the airport. We had to be up at 4th:30 ty I catch a flight and this location gave us those precious extra minutes of sleep. The room is tidy and though the toilet/shower is in the hall it is very neat and tidy as well.

Room all prepared on arrival. Room very clean. Comfy mattress, spotless sheets and towels. Kettle, tea and biscuits,fridge, tv. Shared bathroom facilities spotless. Fine for my overnight airport stop.

Stayed for 1 night as needed somewhere near airport, on arrival at 8pm I phoned the number given and a very nice and pleasant lady gave me the information I required to book in. The room was very spacious,clean and the bed was just the ticket for an amazing sleep. I awoke refreshed and ready for my trip to the middle East. Thank you

Great location, very clean facilities. Even the amenities were thought through well from there being hair dryers, clothes iron, water dispenser and a fan heater in the room in case it got too cold. There was an assortment of tea, biscuits and chocolates in the room on arrival- lovely in its own right but useful if one arrives hungry and tired from travels. Jamie, the owner was incredibly hospitable and accomodating. Highly recommended.

My single room was lovely - light, spacious and tastefully decorated, if a little noisy - but the shared bathroom was unfinished (part of the shower cubicle was missing!) Had to call a number to get a code to get in - good job I'd charged my phone on the train! Overall, a pleasant stay, and very good value for money. Thanks.

Needed a bed to crash in after late arrival at the airport before heading North early the next morning. This was a good value option a short taxi ride from the airport. Clean, basic, single room with a shared bathroom. Served my needs perfectly. Would definitely use again.

Stayed here Saturday night was a wee bit worried given the other review here but ended up with nothing to worry about. The room was very large and airy the bed was comfy with nice clean sheets. The room looked clean to me though I am not a hotel inspector looking for something to moan about. Will be happy to book again if it's just for me but not when I'm with my wife due to shared toilets. Rooms are big enough for built toilets but of course that is an expense the owner might not be ready for just yet. So 4 stars one dropped for shared toilet.
